One-pieces, bikinis and board shorts built on nylon-elastane and polyester-elastane knits. Swimwear is the most technically unforgiving category we make, because the finished garment has to survive three things ordinary apparel never meets: chlorine, salt water and sustained UV. Standard elastane degrades in chlorine — a swimsuit knitted from ordinary spandex loses its shape within a season of real pool use, which is why chlorine-resistant elastane exists and why it costs more. Polyester-based fabrics hold colour and structure against chlorine better than nylon; nylon gives a softer hand and better drape. Lining is not optional on anything pale: without it, a light swimsuit turns transparent when wet, and that failure is discovered by your customer rather than by you.

What buyers ask about swimwear.
Why is chlorine-resistant fabric worth the extra cost?
Because without it a swimsuit has a predictable failure date. Standard elastane breaks down on sustained chlorine exposure — the fibre loses recovery, the garment goes slack and baggy, and pale colours go grey at the seat and seams. For a beach-focused range worn a dozen times a summer this may genuinely not matter, and specifying chlorine-resistant fabric would be spending money your customer never notices. For anything sold to swimmers or aimed at pool use, it is the difference between a product that lasts a season and one that lasts several. Tell us honestly where the range will actually be worn and we will spec accordingly rather than defaulting to the expensive option.
Does swimwear need lining everywhere?
Not everywhere, but more than most first-time buyers assume. Anything pale needs full front lining as a minimum, because light nylon and polyester knits become substantially transparent when wet, and there is no way to discover that from a dry sample sitting on a desk. Darker colours can often go unlined at the front, though a lined gusset is standard regardless. Bust support — shelf bra, removable cups, power mesh panels — is a separate decision from lining and adds both cost and sampling rounds, because it has to be fitted rather than simply specified. We will always wet-test a sample before sign-off; ask any supplier whether they do, because a dry fit approval on swimwear is not an approval.
Can you produce swimwear in recycled fabric?
Yes. Recycled nylon and recycled polyester knits are well established in swimwear now, and the hand feel is close enough to virgin fabric that most buyers cannot pick them apart in a blind test. If you intend to make a recycled-content claim on the label or in marketing, you need chain-of-custody certification behind it rather than just the mill's word — that is what the Global Recycled Standard covers, and we can route production through a certified supply chain so the claim is defensible. An unverifiable recycled claim is a genuine legal risk in the EU and increasingly in the US, so it is worth doing properly or not claiming at all.
