Overview
Five-pocket jeans, denim jackets and skirts in rigid and stretch denim. Denim is priced differently from the rest of our range because the fabric is heavier, the construction is more operations-intensive, and the wash is effectively a second manufacturing process happening after the garment is already sewn. Denim weight is quoted in ounces per square yard: roughly 10oz is a light summer jean, 12oz is the everyday standard at about 407gsm, and 14oz and above reads as heavyweight or raw. Stretch denim adds elastane for comfort and recovery, at the cost of some of the durability and ageing character that rigid denim is prized for. The wash — stone, enzyme, bleach, whiskering, hand sanding — is where a plain pair of jeans becomes a specific product, and where the cost range in this category genuinely comes from.
