Kidswear runs on the same knit and woven constructions as the rest of our range, but it is governed by safety regulation that has no equivalent in adult apparel, and that regulation shapes the design rather than merely checking it afterwards. Drawcords at the neck and hood are restricted in children's upper-body garments under EN 14682 in Europe, because of a documented strangulation risk — a hood drawcord that is unremarkable on an adult hoodie cannot ship on a child's. Small parts that detach become choking hazards, so buttons, poppers and appliqué are pull-tested rather than assumed. In the US, CPSIA sets limits on lead and phthalates in anything a child handles, and testing is mandatory rather than optional. None of this is a reason to avoid the category; it is a reason to design with it in view from the first sketch.
